What to see in Ribadeo

Ribadeo, gateway to paradise

Welcome to Ribadeo, a town located in the province of Lugo and in a privileged environment.

In the Eo River estuary, a protected natural area that marks the natural border between Asturias and Galicia, lies the Ribadeo estuary (also called the Eo estuary), which, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful river basins in northern Spain. Magnificent landscapes surround it, their mere contemplation soothing to the soul. But the best part is that it's not just beautiful. The area offers a wealth of possibilities for visitors.

Navalin Apartments, your accommodation in Ribadeo

Ribadeo is said to be a stone oasis on the Lugo coast, a privileged area from a natural and scenic point of view. However, urban development hasn't always been successful there. Fortunately, Ribadeo is the exception, one of those towns that has not only managed to preserve its maritime essence but also boasts remarkable buildings and noteworthy churches. Strolling through Ribadeo's old town is a delight.

Ribadeo, a destination that shines in good weather

But what I love most is that Ribadeo isn't just its centuries-old stone houses. Nor is it that salty air that permeates every corner. In summer, especially in July and August, when the weather is nice, Ribadeo is also a holiday destination. A tourist hotspot brimming with terraces, bars, restaurants, and pubs that stay open until the early hours during the summer months. They're always packed. You can't miss them; they're all scattered along the pedestrian streets of the historic center.

Ribadeo is also a great place to stay on a day trip, a good base for exploring the surrounding area. If you enjoy sleeping surrounded by nature, the newly opened Apartamentos Navalin are a gem worth mentioning. They're located in Asturias, specifically in Tapia de Casariego , but only 7 kilometers from Ribadeo, very close to the Los Oscos region and Taramundi, both highly recommended excursions if you're spending a few days in the area.

Excursion to the beach of the Cathedrals

It's time to talk about Playa de las Catedrales, also known as Augasantas Beach. One of the must-see excursions in Ribadeo and undoubtedly its most famous tourist attraction. A treasure of nature. A work of art sculpted by the force of the ever-restless Cantabrian Sea.
